Is Our World Losing Its Colours?

A Dull Society ?

Sometimes, I find myself stopping in the middle of the city centre, simply watching people walk by. More often than not, one thing strikes me: the streets are grey, black and dark blue. Almost everyone seems to be wearing jeans and shirts that look remarkably alike. And so, I find myself wondering.

I walk into offices, hotels and all kinds of other buildings. I look at the interior design. Different in appearance, perhaps, but too often lacking any real distinction in creative spirit.

I browse online shops, hoping to find something unique, something that stands out. But alas! It almost feels as though all these shops get together at night to decide, with only the slightest variations, what everyone will be selling the next day.

"The artist is present in all societies, from the most primitive to the most sophisticated... He is not an ornament. He is an essential instrument for the transformation of the world."

I look at urban landscape, houses and buildings. And my boredom only deepens. Where has the splendour of the past gone? Where is the era when craftsmen, architects, shopkeepers and fashion designers, to name but a few, took such pride in perfecting their craft to create things that were not only functional, but also visually stunning, unique and authentic?

How dull! How monotonous! How did we manage to make crowds and their tastes so uniform? Where have the colours gone from our society and from the things we consume? Oh, yes, I know: they have taken refuge in children's books and video games. And yet, countless industries and businesses continue to seek creative minds capable of making a difference, standing out from the crowd and generating profit. Ironic, isn't it?

Is this a lack of imagination on the part of artists? Or is it the conformity imposed by industrial and mass production that is holding back their creative minds? The frameworks, predetermined standards and decades of conditioning that have taught the masses to appreciate uniformity with only minor variations seem to leave increasingly little room for freedom of thought.

And yet, many companies offer customers the option of personalising their products, even if the choices are often limited. This very demand for personalisation has fuelled an economic boom worth millions, one that has become impossible to ignore. If so many people long for products that reflect their individuality, then why? Why do we continue to be confined to the same moulds?

Who conditioned us to like the same things? Do we all really have such similar tastes? Are we so eager to look alike?

Art is all around us, after all. Present everywhere, yet somehow lifeless. In the places we go, in the clothes we wear, in our homes, our buildings and our streets. And yet, we rarely stop to notice it. Instead, we keep desperately searching for green spaces. This is what happens when art loses its vitality within society. It is the consequence of a conformity that gradually suffocates us without our even realising it. And so, as a last resort, we rush towards nature in search of life, harmony and a breath of fresh air, hoping to give our souls room to breathe in a world where the colours have long since faded.

What can we do?

But then, what can we do? What can we do? We need art around us. In our everyday lives and in the spaces we inhabit. Not mere commodities, but living, breathing art.

It is with this vision in mind that SoulXpression Gallery was born. We want to do things differently and reconnect with art in its very essence. Not as a commodity, not as a generic product, but as authentic art.

So, come and discover our world !

We are actively working on exciting improvements to our website and gallery. Very soon, you will have the opportunity to discover what's new. Because we don't simply want to make a difference. We want to make authentic art accessible to everyone.
